In our public webinar a few weeks ago we discussed the opportunistic acquisitions that we were going to make in casks when the time was right. We found an excellent deal with 12 casks of Dalrymple (Ailsa Bay) and Whitlaw (Highland Park) for just over SG$31,000. This offers great value for our investors given that 6 are ready to be bottled within the year, and the balance should be ready within the next 4 years. It has been a solid month for the Collective with our Japanese portfolio continuing to shine, realising solid returns from the Hanyu 1990 Seven of Spades (+45%) and Six of Hearts (+26%).

The 2021 International Whisky Awards were held in Las Vegas last month, with Ardberg and Kavalan performing exceptionally well. A great outcome for Taiwanese whisky, where Kavalan secured 4 whiskies in the top 15. For those investors that are still looking to brush up their knowledge of whisky, we would highly recommend getting your hands on one of Whisky Exchange’s new 20 Whiskies That Changed The World Set, which has been getting some solid reviews in the press. For those based in Singapore, now that lockdown has been lifted, we would also suggest celebrating with a whisky flight at Signature Reserve at the Fullerton Hotel, which recently opened up again.
